Students interested in development geography can apply for a place on the Youth for Development Programme offered by Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO).

This competitive scheme enables students to undertake a year-long community-based project in a developing country. Students are given advice on project selection by their university tutors and training for work in the field by VSO. This scheme may also lead to the award of a Diploma in International Studies.
