Entry requirements Standard and non-standard entry
The Geography Department has admissions requirements which are in line with the Curriculum 2000 changes. These take into account the AS/A2 level qualifications. The University has basic requirements at GCSE level. These are identified in the University Prospectus .
Single Honours Geography (F800)
For 2012 entry, this will normally be ABB/AAC from three A2 levels.
The Key Skills components are not included in our offers for this programme. However, we do look for a broad base of student skills when considering your application, and we build on these Key Skills in the first year of the degree programme.
We do not accept General Studies for this programme.
Joint Honours in Geography and Management (FN8F or FN82)
For 2012 entry, this will normally be ABB/AAC from three A2 levels, including B or above in Geography.
The Key Skills components are not included in our offers for this programme. However, we do look for a broad base of student skills when considering your application.
We do not accept General Studies for these programmes.
If you select FN82, you are on a 4 year programme, with the 3rd year out in industry. If you select FN8F, then you are on the 3 year programme and will not do an industrial placement.
Joint Honours in Geography and Sport Management (LN78)
For 2012 entry, this will normally be between ABB/AAC and AAB from three A2 levels, including B or above in Geography.
The Key Skills components are not included in our offers for this programme. However, we do look for a broad base of student skills in considering your application (including sporting achievements and coaching skills).
We do not accept General Studies for this programme.
Joint Honours in Geography and Sports Science (FC86)
For 2012 entry, this will normally be AAB from three A2 levels, including Geography.
The Key Skills components are not included in our offers for this programme. However, we do look for a broad base of student skills when considering your application (including sporting achievements and coaching skills).
We do not accept General Studies for this programme.
Combined Honours in Geography with Economics (LL17)
For 2012 entry, this will normally be AAB from three A2 levels.
The Key Skills components are not included in our offers for this programme. However, we do look for a broad base of student skills when considering your application.

We are interested in Non-Standard Entry Candidates
Students with qualifications other than A levels seeking admission are welcomed and will be considered on an individual basis. Such candidates must present evidence that they have alternative qualifications and experience and that they will be able to meet the academic demands of the degree programme to which they are applying. In the first instance contact should be made with the Admissions Tutor. Candidates following recognised ACCESS schemes will be considered on a basis equivalent to all other entrance procedures.
