Abstract
This project aims at disinfection of large physical environment such as hospital wards using low-temperature cold atmospheric plasmas. Specifically the targets are MRSA and C. Diff, either residing on surfaces or flowing in air. In the case of the former, relevant surfaces include floors and walls, furniture, and huamn skins. The engineering challenge is to scale up the inherently small atmopsheric plasmas sustained in molecular gases and to control their gas tempearture. Arrays of many cold plasma sources will be used, and if necessary nanosecond pulsed generation will be employed to control gas temperature.
