Hassan Qasem is a PhD student within the Applied Photovoltaic Systems group in the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST). His area of research is focused on cells mismatch and module durability.
His key interests are performance effects on photovoltaic (PV) modules, solar radiation analysis, and system design and performance evaluation.

Hassan attained his B.S. from Arizona State University (ASU) in the field of Electronic engineering technology and he got his M.S.c from the same university with emphasis on renewable energy technology (photovoltaic and fuel cells).
He previously worked in Arizona Photovoltaic Testing Laboratory (PTL) where he was trained on standard (IEC and UL) testing procedures for accreditation of photovoltaic modules. Then he moved to work with Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) as Research Associate in the Building & Energy Technology department, were he was awarded a scholarship to continues his studies in the field of photovoltaic technology.
