Why a Loughborough MSc
Our reputation: Our School has been running MSc programmes in the Construction Management area for over 45 years. We are the second oldest MSc in the world and thus we have a long-track record educating professionals from all over the world who now hold very senior positions in industry and local government. In the UK, our School has been ranked in the top 3 in Building subjects and for the last 5 years. Our MSc programmes are also accredited by a number of very prestigious professional bodies who believe we provide top class education.
Our Staff: We have over 20 members of staff who teach on our MSc programmes. All our staff are full-time and based within the School. You will be taught by extremely well-qualified people who are at the forefront of their individual areas of expertise. We offer a multi-disciplinary programme and hence our staff are civil engineers, architects, construction managers, quantity surveyors and a barrister. We operate an open-door policy where our students are encouraged engage with their lecturers consult them whenever they need assistance.
Our Experience: All our staff have several years of experience in teaching and research and are keen to transfer their experience to students. Indeed, some of our lecturing staff are alumni of the School and are passionate to see students engage with their education opportunities. We are also able to draw upon our close links with the UK construction industry and invite guest lecturers from industry who bring a wealth of experience to demonstrate the link between material covered in the classroom and what happens in industry.
Our Facilities: We have a modern building with attractive, open areas for students. The classrooms are equipped with the latest technologies to enhance the teaching experience. Our School’s 40-seat computer laboratory hosts the latest versions of construction-specific software. We also have a very large and well-equipped civil engineering laboratory. There are also several areas in the School where students can enjoy private or group study.
Our University: Loughborough is an excellent place to study for mature students. It offers ample opportunity to mix study quietly and a social life.
