Loughborough Students' Union plays a key part in creating the ‘Loughborough Student Experience’ – one of the very best in the country. It is one of the only unions in the UK to be owned and managed by the students, offering a variety of support services, more than 100 clubs and societies and a packed programme of social events.
Its fundraising arm, Loughborough Rag, is the most successful student fundraising organisation in the country. In 2010-11 it raised more than £1,100,000 for local and national charities, breaking its own national record.
In 2011 the University topped the Times Higher Education’s (THE) Best Student Experience poll for the fifth year in succession.
Loughborough was rated highly by its students for its extra-curricular activities, the campus environment, the social life, the students’ union and the library. The University’s sports facilities were also highly rated, attaining a near perfect score.
